SOME ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS ONE FACES WHEN SEEKING A CHURCH

Finding the right church is a very important and sometimes difficult decision to make. We realize our church may not be the right place for you and we don’t want you to come if Covenant is not where God wants you. Obviously, there are a lot of questions to ask when looking when looking, so we have provided you some answers to what we believe are some important questions a person should consider.
We make no apologies for who we are or for the beliefs we hold, but we do seek to hold our convictions with a loving and gracious spirit.

We are Christians.
We are Christians, and we do cherish that name, as it was originally a reference in the Book of Acts to the fact that the believers were Christ-like. We have much in common with anyone who names the name of Christ and wishes to exalt Him as Lord and Savior.

We are Reformed.
We are Reformed in our theology, which means that we hold to that doctrine which was restored to the church at the period of the Reformation. Again, we have many things in common with any one who holds this system of doctrine, which we see as Biblically accurate and most throughly God-centered.

We are Baptistic.
We are Baptistic, holding to the faith as expressed in several great Baptist confessions of faith, namely the Second London Confession of 1689 and Philadelphia Confession of the early Baptists in America. Both of these confessions find root in the Westminister Confession of Faith.

We teach truth.
We believe that the most important questions one faces when seeking a church is this: Does the church preach and teach the truth? It may have many other appealing things, but if it does not preach and teach the truth, can it really fulfill the primary purpose of a church in your life?--which is to draw you nearer to God and His Son Jesus Christ! Do you take a chance with lies that produce “good” results? Or do you take the truth which is sometimes hard to swallow but always offers Good results? We offer the truth without apologies and no artificial sweeteners.

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. (Heb 10:25)
